okay, first off, let me tell you right the fuck now

that said, the show was GREAT. moonspell opened, and they did the musical equivalent of stomping on people. now i REALLY wanna hear more moonspell. think sentenced without the suicidal tendencies.
then came devil driver. not impressed, although the fact that some asshole tore my brand new concert shirt between moonspell and devil driver may have something to do with that.
finally came opeth. opening up with master's apprentice, they totally slew everything. mikael actually spoke, and talked about how much he likes cincinnati (this is their first time here). they moved on to the drapery falls. next they played some song that i can not for the life of me remember the title to. then they sat down and got out the accoustic guitar for some in my time of need. that was badass. then they played a song i'm not familiar with, and then they got right down to windowpane. it was either before windowpane or before their next song deliverance that mikael asked for some silence, and after letting some shitmeats in the back babble on for like 15 seconds about goats or whatever he said "shut the fuck up." finally they destroyed us with blackwater park and their encore song i didn't catch the title to or recognize. by then i was kind of rattled, so i probably wouldn't have recognized it anyway. and they finished up just in time for me to leave, rock on.
oh yeah, the best part of the crowd was there was a row of very old men who were probably my age when they started making fun of manowar's sexuality.
